Olympique live in Innsbruck – 10/11/2017

If somebody comes up to me asking if there are any good Austrian bands to check out, you can bet that this band is pretty much on the top of the list. Check out the gallery!

Olympique is a well-kept secret of the Austrian Alternative Rock scene and their acclaimed debut record “Crystal Palace” came out in 2014. The first time I had the opportunity to see this band live was back in 2015 at some weird festival in the middle of a forest near Salzburg and two years later, Olympique are back with a new record called “Chron” (there will be a review on that soon, I promise) and so the band headed out on a tour to promote it. The second stop of their Chron Tour lead the band to Innsbruck’s Hafen.

This band is on the top of their game and it was evident throughout the whole show. Besides tracks taken from the new album (e.g. “True Love” or “Will It Be Alright“), we could also enjoy the songs that made us aware of this Austrian band in the first place – Talking about “The Reason I Came” or “No Estate To Remind” here.
Olympique delivered a very laid back, but sophisticated show that didn’t leave anyone in the venue cold – The vibes were good and it was a huge step forward from what I saw on that one festival two years ago. Let’s admit that.

We should talk more about how this band is on a good way of becoming the next big thing in the Austrian music export. Yes. We seriously should.
Now take a look at our gallery to get an idea what the mood in Innsbruck was like:
